Q. What is AsburyGives?

AsburyGives is a celebration of the University we love and is fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. This 24-hour giving day is designed to empower you and other Asbury alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends to support the University’s transformational Christ-centered education. Every gift, no matter the size or designation, will combine to have a big impact for students, faculty and our entire community.

Q. When is AsburyGives?

AsburyGives 2024 will take place from noon Eastern Daylight Time on March 21 to noon EDT on March 22. Early giving will be available as well.

Why is it a single day?

Think of it as a virtual pep rally for AU — a one-day event where we show our Asbury pride and maximize the impact of every dollar. The day includes challenges and friendly class competition.

Q. Who can participate?

Anyone and everyone! Whether you are an alumnus, student, parent, friend, faculty or staff member, or a friend of a friend, we would love to have your support! You can make a gift on this site, or you can call our office at (859) 858-5136 to make your gift over the phone.

Q. What is the University’s area of greatest need?

Student scholarships. Your support is needed to make a life-changing Asbury education available to every qualified student who desires to attend. A robust scholarship program is essential as we recruit and retain students.

Q. Where will my gift go?

You tell us! Select the tile representing what you are interested in supporting. Your gift will be designated for use in that area. You can also split your gift across multiple designations.

Q. What if my preferred area is not listed?

If you would like to donate to an area not listed on the site, select the “Other” tile and enter your preferred designation in the provided text box.

Q. I am part of a banner-year reunion class. Does my AsburyGives contribution to the Reunion Gift Project count toward my class gift?

Yes, your contribution through the AsburyGives website designated to the 2024 Reunion Gift will count toward your class total for the project.

Q. What if I already made a gift to Asbury University this fiscal year?

Thank you for your support! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on March 21-22 to help unlock match and challenge opportunities being offered. We also need your help promoting AsburyGives to others. We have created sample emails and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are in Downloads.

Q. Is it safe to make my gift online?

Absolutely! AsburyGives utilizes the technology vendor GiveGab. GiveGab is partnered with Stripe, a certified PCI Level 1 Service Provider (the most stringent level of certification possible), to process all gifts made through givingday.asbury.edu. Stripe's security documentation is available online.

Q. Can I make a gift by mail or phone?

Yes. However, since this is a one-day giving initiative, only contributions made online, by phone or in response to an AsburyGives mailing count toward overall totals and competitions.

Q. Can I give stock?

Asbury University does accept gifts of stock. To find out more, visit asbury.edu/development/giving-securities or contact the Development Office at (859) 858-5136.

Q. Are AsburyGives contributions tax-deductible?

Asbury University is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Gifts to the University are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Once you make a gift on this site, you will receive an email confirmation. A gift receipt will also be sent to you in the mail.

Q. Can I use my employer's matching gifts funds?

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of your employer’s generosity to enhance the impact of your gift to Asbury University. Contact a representative of your organization to learn more about their guidelines.

Q. Can I make a gift “in honor” or “in memory” of someone?

Yes. As you make your gift on the site, check “Make this donation in honor of or in memory of someone” below the “Name to Display” field. You will also be offered the opportunity to provide us with an individual that should be notified of your tribute gift.

Q. Will my AsburyGives gift – if made in advance of March 21 – help populate the leaderboards?

Gifts made in advance of March 21 in response to an AsburyGives appeal will be displayed on the leaderboards.

Q. Whom do I contact with questions about AsburyGives?
